Bucks County Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force

Nationally, suicide is the third leading cause of death for youth ages 11-24; but in Bucks County, suicide is the second leading cause of  death for this age group.  In response to this alarming fact, the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities agreed to coordinate the creation of the Bucks County Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force (BCYSPT).  Membership in this group includes school and community mental health and prevention professionals.  The mission of the BCYSPT is to reduce the incidence of youth suicide by creating a countywide plan, identifying and coordinating resources, and implementing effective suicide prevention strategies.
